§ 24-2. Violations and penalty.

  • (a)

    The owner or agent of a building or premises in or upon which a violation of any provision of this chapter has been committed or shall exist, or the lessee or tenant of that part of a building or premises in or upon which a violation of this chapter exists, shall be guilty of an offense. Each and every day that the violation continues after notification shall constitute a separate offense.

    (b)

    Any architect, builder, contractor, agent or other person who commits, participates and assists in or maintains the violation may each be found guilty of a separate offense and suffer the penalties provided in section 1-7.

    (c)

    In the event of any action to enforce the terms of this chapter, the person violating the terms of this chapter shall be responsible for the reasonable attorney's fees incurred by the town; provided, however, that the penalty provided for in section 1-7 and the attorney's fees shall not exceed $2,500.00 per violation.
